Take That rally around Gary Barlow – fundraising page and X Factor/Olympic news
FANS SET UP CHARITY PAGE FOR POPPY BARLOW
Gary Barlow must have logged into literally hundreds of thousands of well-wishes this morning on his Twitter account. Lots will have come from the ‘Thatter’ and ‘Captain Barlow’ communities but I imagine these were matched by messages from the general public.
Gary wrote a short message on the social-media site this morning.
‘Your kind words and lovely messages are overwhelming. Thank you.’
His words follow a short statement released on Monday which read -
‘Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby,’ it read.
‘Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4 in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.’
A source has also told the Daily Mirror that the rest of the Take That boys are ‘devasted’ for their band-mate and his family. The source also said - ’The boys are such a tight bunch and this has really knocked them all for six. They will always be there for him.’
Gary of course has a busy schedule ahead, Take That were supposed to be singing ‘Rule the World’ this Sunday as the Olympic Flame was being extinguished. LOCOG have not commented on the bands involvement yet.
The X Factor is also supposed to re-start with pre-recorded shows on August 18, the live stages could be pushed back for Gary if needed.
You can also donate to SANDS here for Poppy – the fund is nearly at £6,000
The campaign aims to raise £100,000 for the stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands.
A page, set up on justgiving.com, said the move is a ‘mark of respect’.
A statement said: ‘As fans and many of us as parents we all want to show love and support to the Barlow family.
‘Here we can make a difference, and leave united messages of love and support. This is a united donation from all Gary Barlow and TT fans.’
