ED SHEERAN PLAYS FOR YOUNG CANCER PATIENT BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY
ED SHEERAN FULFILS CANCER PATIENTS FINAL WISH
The parents of Abigail Fleming have spoken to their local paper the Worksop Guardian about how Ed Sheeran played by the bed-side of their dying daughter.
The singer visited Abigail at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice after he read a story about her request and received a video message. Abi was suffering from cancer and only had weeks left to live, seeing Sheeran perform was one of her last wishes.
Sheeran travelled to meet Abigail and perform some of his biggest tracks at her bedside.
Mother Maria Fleming said: “He didn’t just make her day, it made her life. It was his only day off. He flew in from Paris to London and then caught the train to Sheffield.
“Abigail gave him a card and a keyring to say thank you. He gave her a bracelet which somebody had given him for his 18th brithday, which I now wear.
“He was a complete gentleman and she really loved it.”
Sheeran has since announced that he aims to raise money at an auction for the Bluebell Wood charity, as well as becoming an ambassador.
Abigail Fleming passed away on April 3 at the age of 14.
